The Children's Mission of St. Paul and St. James

The Children's Mission of St. Paul and St. James reaches out to city children and their families with hope and help.

Since 1995, we have offered programs (both secular and religious) that provide a safe haven for city children; nourish and strengthen them in body, mind and spirit through play, stories, learning, art, music, ritual and good food; offer them unconditional love and the skills and vision to embrace cooperation and respect; and invite them and their families to discover the resources of faith, celebration, pastoral care, support, and love provided by an active, diverse, socially engaged faith community.

We offer both secular and religious programs: Light and Peace (Tuesday evenings) and Light and Peace Summer Program (three weeks in July) center on worship and Scripture; Mustardseed Club (Saturday morning drop-in program) and Mustardseed Afternoon Club (afterschool program) are secular.

Our approach is cosistent over both our worship-based and our secular programs. We have found that our children thrive on a steady diet of books and stories, traditional music, healthy snacks, low-tech toys, and outdoor play.
